A FIPS certified appliance provides self-test and a finite state machine, providing network security assurance without risk of compromise. FIPS 140-2 validation of the entire appliance is the only independent validation that can provide assurance that the proper key storage, cryptographic operations, and operational integrity of the SOA Gateway have been met.
